Alkaline Vs Alkaline Ionized Water

Cerra Water is much more than just regular alkaline water and in fact is Alkaline Ionized water which is where most of the health benefits actually come from. But what is the difference between alkaline water and alkaline ionized water?

Alkaline water is only water with an elevated pH and can be easily achieved by adding simple minerals such as calcium, baking soda or even other chemicals to the water to raise the pH of water. While regular alkaline water may have a high pH of 8.5 and above it does not necessarily provide many health benefits which are commonly associated with alkaline ionized water. Many alkaline water pitchers primarily add large amounts of calcium to increase the pH. They typically add too much cheap calcium which your body cannot absorb which can create a strain on your body having to process out these excess minerals.

Alkaline Ionized water is much different, the main difference being in the ionizing process. Ionizing water adds negative hydroxyl ions to the water and molecular hydrogen  to the water creating micro clustered water that is super hydrating with anti-oxidants.  These antioxidants can be measured through the negative ORP meter.  We can prove Cerra Water has abundance of negative electrons which are our antioxidants as well as our molecular hydrogen. This ionizing process also breaks the water up into smaller clusters that can be up to 3x smaller than regular water molecule clusters in an organized hexagonal pattern. Every Cerra Water Pitcher has the type of plastic marked on it (SAN 7) as well as the Food Safe logo (knife and fork symbol) as well as our filters which have a SAN 5 plastic type and Food Safe logo as well. Every type of plastic should have these identifying marks to assure its safety and quality.

If you are going to use Cerra Water Filter Cartridges in another water pitcher we highly recommend you check to make sure it has the plastic type marking on it as well as the Food Safe logo (knife and fork symbol) to ensure it is actually BPA/BPS free. Without these logos imprinted on the plastic you really have no clue what type of junk plastic is being used even if it claims to be BPA free.

FAQ

pH Testing: Please make sure to use the pH found on CerraWater.com another type of pH testing drops/ meter that is designed for testing water. Using pH testing methods not designed to test water such as litmus strips or soil pH meters will not provide accurate results as they are not designed to test water.
Activating Your Filter: Our filters are jam-packed with our Cerra minerals and crystals, so please follow these instructions:

• Soak your filter on its side in regular tap water and insure that it is completely submerged to release any air bubbles, making sure it is held down under water for 5 minutes.
• Insert the filter in to the pitcher and run water through several times until carbon dust is removed. It is normal to see black specs in the water, this is just the carbon and is not harmful if consumed
• Your Cerra Water filter is now ready to use!

The water is running too slowly thru the filter or there is poor alkalinity
There are a number of reasons for the water running too slowly or the filter is producing a poor alkalinity that can be easily fixed using their various methods:

• Shake the filter and tapping it against counter redistributes the Cerra crystal and mineral beads. Water tends to channel, so redistributing/shaking insures that the water is touching fresh Cerra beads.
• Submerge the filter under water; you can use the pitcher reservoir to hold it under to release all the air bubbles in the filter. Once the filter stays settled at the bottom and does not float anymore it is ready to use.
• Hold the filter under a cold water tap, running water thru from top to bottom for over a minute.
• Do not leave the pitcher in the sunlight.  This can slow down the flow of the water.  Also, sunlight can destroy the anti-oxidants in the water.
